In this episode, a girl is asking Team Ghost's help about his brother getting so obsessed about creating the ultimate music masterpiece that he is ready to die just to make it. So yeah, stuff about Beethoven. With only 45 days left and the mysterious Specter also wanting the Heroic Ghost Eyecons, can Takeru acquire the Beethoven Ghost Eyecon before it's too late?
This episode Takeru's dilemma in the last few episodes involving Specter and his impact on him; in the previous episode, his impact has something to do with, "Hey, a new Rider! Hopefully he has a good reason on why he did that!" In this episode, it impacted Takeru's self confidence, he is starting to panic and realizing that there is another guy hunting for the 15 Heroic Ghost Eyecons and the first thing he did is schedule his remaining days to obtain the said items. He is at the state where his confidence is really low and him scheduling his remaining days just to hunt the rest of the Ghost Eyecons is just him, in my opinion, him trying to act like he is responsible.
This leads us to the case involving sudden silences and a sister worried about her brother being so obsessed in creating the ultimate masterpiece. This is the part of the episode where we see Takeru trying to act more responsible, only to fail miserably. Him trying to hide the fact that he was beaten badly in the previous episode was only made clear by his actions in this episode.
During the course of this episode, there are instances that the music just stops. When this happened for the first time, I thought that it has something to do with my computer, but nope, it is just a gimmick for this episode. I gotta be honest, I really liked it. It made the MOTW really interesting and it made some scenes cooler in some shots. The lack of music actually enhanced the episode to the point that when music returned thanks to Specter's arrival, it added more impact to it.
Speaking of Specter, we learn more about him in this episode. First is that he knows Akari at some point in his life, and second, his sister is a Ganma Eyecon for some reason. Considering that Specter's sister also knows Akari, you can easily figure out that these three are really close at some point in their lives before Specter became well, Specter. The scene where he spared Akari's life and what he did later in the episode added some more depth to the character. It tells us that there is some humanity in this mysterious new Rider, that there is something more beyond his spooky appearance.
Because Takeru is still not confident, Akari gives him a pep talk in the place she knows Takeru will end up hiding if he thinks he is at his weakest. This gives us more of those heartwarming moments in the series. It expanded Akari's character and it even added layers to the friendship between these two. With his confidence back, it is time to convince the guy who is obsessed into becoming the next Beethoven that life is worth living. After that, it is time to acquire the Beethoven Ghost Eyecon. This is the other act of kindness Specter did in this episode. He just let Ghost obtain the Eyecon.
I got to be honest, I was surprised with the move, but considering his act earlier in the episode, him just standing there doing nothing is the best way they handled Specter doing a kind deed. That being said, it is time for Ghost Beethoven Damashii's debut. To put it simply, I really love this form's debut, his move set being sound-based attacks is kinda ironic considering that Beethoven has some hearing issues in his lifetime, but who cares, he is a musician that made good music despite his disability.
The sound-based attacks are fun to watch but if there is one thing that I am disappointed about this form's debut is that Ghost didn't perform the finisher as Ghost Beethoven Damashii. He switched to Musashi Damashii just to deliver the final blow, which is kinda disappointing. With his confidence back and with four Heroic Ghost Eyecons in his possession, we are halfway done with Takeru's quest to bring himself back to life.
